Head coach Unai Emery revealed what he asked Aston Villa players and coaches about Nottingham Forest ahead of their Premier League clash this afternoon.
Villa will head to Trentside for a 2pm kick-off at the City Ground. It will be Emery’s first visit to NG2 since taking over at Villa Park in October last year.
The meeting between the teams last year, ended 1-1 with both Emmanuel Dennis and Ashley Young on the scoresheet. It proved to be Steven Gerrard’s last game in charge following a poor start to the season.

Emery now wants to ensure his Villa side are ready for the challenge as they look to improve their away form. “I asked the players and the coaches about how difficult the match will be on Sunday,” he told our sister title, BirminghamLive.
“In Nottingham it is difficult for every team, and the Aston Villa players and coaches, they said it is difficult. The supporters are pushing a lot and trying to support the players. We have to face this match thinking about how we can play better away. We have to improve and we have to play better and be competitive.
“For me it is a big challenge on Sunday because we have to improve away. We have to try to believe in our work and really feel stronger in our ideas when we are playing away. It is always harder to play away than at home, but we must get better balance.”
