Prior to Aston Villa’s match against Nottingham Forest, Tim Sherwood believes Matt Cash is playing as well as he has ever played for the team.
When Unai Emery’s team takes on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday, they will be ranked fifth in the Premier League standings.
With three points, Aston Villa moves up into the top four of the Premier League. Their next matchup is at home against Fulham.
In an interview with No Tippy Tappy Football, Tim Sherwood praised Unai Emery for his work at B6 and how he has developed numerous players, including Matty Cash. On Sunday, the 26-year-old will be playing at his former haunt because he moved from Championship team Forest to Villa in 2020. And as a result of some of his performances for a Villa team that is vying for the Champions League, he is currently receiving high praise.
praise for Matty Cash
Sherwood remarked, “He (Emery) doesn’t like them superstars.” He enjoys helping players grow. He enjoys playing the underdog. Diaby has been a fantastic acquisition for him. Douglas Luiz appears to be a major attraction. Torres, your partnership with Konsa is far superior to that of Konsa and Mings. His custodian won the World Cup.
Both quality and depth are present in them. It’s the best that Matty Cash has ever played. He’s bombing that side to the right. He is quite balanced. Everything is carried out on the training pitch.
Cash still needs to be covered.
Cash was receiving our Player of the Season award not too long ago. We are fortunate to have him, as he has been an excellent addition to our team.
However, during the January transfer window, cover needs to be brought in and he needs assistance. Some would argue that since everyone could see the gap in the summer, why didn’t someone fill it then? However, they chose not to do so for a variety of reasons. Maybe Monchi is waiting for the right player instead of throwing in any old face, but right-back depth is required as Villa looks to advance farther in Europe.
