Dr Daniel Plumley, a football finance expert, has joined us as our exclusive West Brom columnist. Each week, he’ll share his thoughts on the hot topics at The Hawthorns…

The presence of David Hinchcliffe at West Brom games, according to Dan Plumley, could be a sign that a potential takeover at The Hawthorns is moving forward.

On Monday, November 6, Adrian Goldberg reported that the top sports lawyer, described as a legend in the football takeover scene, was spotted with Xu Ke.

People will naturally put two and two together now, according to the finance guru, with a takeover said to be critical to moving the club forward now.

“These are small details that people will notice along the way,” he exclusively told West Brom News.

“When you have a fairly high-profile figure who has been involved in a number of football takeovers attending a game, potentially as a guest of the board, people will naturally put two and two together.”

“We are aware of a takeover situation at West Brom, and we have spoken at length in the past about how important that is in many ways to moving the club forward, so it stands to reason.”

You’re then stacking logical assumptions on top of it; of course, we won’t know the ins and outs until any of that is revealed, but you can see why they’re putting two and two together.”

In other West Brom news, Plumley has predicted that The Hawthorns will require a change of ownership.
