Few players can say they’ve seen their goal celebration recreated 15,000 feet in the air, but Wrexham striker Paul Mullin can.
WHAT OCCURED?
Over the course of his two full seasons in North Wales, the prolific Red Dragons frontman has won a slew of fans. Mullin scored on 47 occasions last season to help propel Wrexham back into the Football League, and his overall record now stands at 85 goals in 109 appearances.
THE LARGER IMAGE
The former Cambridge United star has already demonstrated his ability in League Two, and there has been talk of him being drafted into the Wales national team. For the time being, he is entirely focused on assisting Wrexham in fulfilling the ambitions of Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
WHAT DID YOU KNOW?
Mullin is a fan favourite at SToK Racecourse for his efforts both on and off the pitch, and one fan has taken fandom to the next level by recreating the striker’s iconic celebration – which pays tribute to his autistic son, Albi – while skydiving high above Australian soil.
WHAT COMES NEXT?
Mullin, who missed the start of the 2023-24 season due to injury and is currently serving a ban for five yellow cards, has six goals in 12 appearances for Wrexham this season, with Phil Parkinson’s side riding high in the fourth tier table as they seek back-to-back promotions.
