Latest Nottingham Forest news as Steve Cooper’s Reds prepare to face West Ham United in the Premier League.
The injury situation for Nottingham Forest appears to be improving as they prepare to face West Ham United on Sunday.
The Reds have had a number of players sidelined in recent weeks, and their attacking options have taken a hit. However, head coach Steve Cooper claims that training has been nearly at full strength in preparation for his team’s trip to the capital.
Danilo made his return from a hamstring injury in last weekend’s win over Aston Villa. Taiwo Awoniyi made his first start since recovering from a groyne injury in that game at the City Ground.
Chris Wood (hamstring), Divock Origi (hip), Gonzalo Montiel (calf), and Felipe (knee) have all been absent recently, but Cooper believes they are making progress. The only player who did not participate in today’s training session was winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, who has been recovering from a hamstring injury.
“We don’t have any new injuries.” “We have a couple of lads who have returned to training,” Cooper explained.
“We haven’t had the best of luck with injuries in the last month or so, but some of the guys have returned to training.” Not everyone will be ready for the weekend, but as of now, Callum Hudson-Odoi is the only one who did not train today.
“It means that some boys have returned and may be available for a few minutes over the weekend.” It may be too soon for some; we’ll cross that bridge tomorrow and see where we end up. But nothing about last week’s game that was negative.”
