Fiorentina defender Antonin Barak has rubbished claims he had a falling out with West Ham duo Vladimir Coufal and Tomas Soucek before last season’s Europa Conference League final.
The defender has been speaking at a press conference, relayed by Fiorentina News, regarding various topics including the claims earlier this year.
He was a part of the squad that took on David Moyes side in the Europa Conference League final in Prague earlier this year.
He started that game on the bench, coming on as part of four substitutes for his side in the eventual 2-1 defeat.
Ahead of the game, there were reports that the player had had a falling out with compatriots Soucek and Coufal, who he plays alongside for the Czech Republic.
Reports earlier this year claimed that the West Ham duo had been criticised by Barak, leading to Coufal even being left out of the squad at the time.
After the win in Prague Coufal had insisted that was not the case when asked about the matter, with the pair even seen talking on the pitch, with Soucek even consoling the Fiorentina man amid West Ham’s celebrations.
And now Barak has insisted he had no problem with the Hammers pair, claiming that all reports stating otherwise were false.
“Before the match some media said that I had problems with Coufal and Soucek, the Czech players of West Ham,” he said.
“I want to point out that it wasn’t true, there was no verbal or even physical confrontation with them.”
