Gary Neville was surprised with the score prediction made by Ian Wright ahead of this weekend’s meeting between West Ham and Nottingham Forest.
West Ham are one point and one place better off than Forest in the Premier League ahead of their showdown at London Stadium on Sunday (12 November).
Sky Sports pundits Neville and Wright offered their predictions for the game on The Overlap podcast [9 November, 55m 46s], with the latter tipping Forest to prevail 2-1.
However, a surprised Neville backed the hosts to win by the same scoreline after telling Wright: “That won’t be right”.
In fairness, this game is a very tough one to call on the face of it as there is so little between the sides in the league.
Forest snapped a six-match winless run last weekend with a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa, who have been in good form this season.
West Ham have lost three in a row in the league, meanwhile, and have won just one of their past seven matches in the competition.
That form has seen the Irons slip down the division but, hopefully, a much-needed win arrives on home soil this weekend to kick-start our campaign.
Given the tight nature of the Premier League, West Ham could end the weekend either ninth in the table or potentially down in 16th, depending on how results pan out.
Effectively, then, we will either be right back in the hunt for a European spot or looking over our shoulder at the relegation zone, making this a big match.
In other West Ham news, manager David Moyes has made a “toughest” admission in a clip shared by Ian Abrahams on social media.
