Before facing Nottingham Forest, Brighton head coach Roberto De Zerbi will be concerned about the fitness of key defender Lewis Dunk.
After the international break, Forest will host the Seagulls in just over two weeks. Dunk is currently listed as questionable for the game after suffering a groyne injury on Thursday.
The centre-back was forced off in the second half of Ajax’s Europa League match and did not play against Sheffield United the following weekend. The 31-year-old was left out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad this week and will now face a race against time to recover fully.
On Sunday, head coach Roberto De Zerbi was asked for an update on the defender. “I don’t know the extent of the injury,” he said.
After the break, when we start training, I hope to find the time [the] injured players are [out] – Evan [Ferguson], Tariq Lamptey, [Pervis] Estupinan, and Lewis Dunk. I hope and want to see them on the pitch.”
Brighton will be without Mahmoud Dahoud at the City Ground. After stamping on former Reds player Ben Osborn’s Achilles, the midfielder was given a marching order.
