Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly close to deciding on an asking price and are now prepared to let go of a “quick” player permanently.
Folding plans for Spurs’ transfer
When it comes to Spurs’ transfer activity, 2024 will be a very interesting year because, according to rumours, new sporting director Johan Lange is giving the acquisition of a new left-sided centre back top priority.
Tottenham’s obvious lack of depth at the position has been made evident by Cristian Romero’s suspension and Micky van de Ven’s injury, which will keep him out for the rest of the season. Spurs are reportedly considering the following players: Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi, Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah, Everton’s Ben Godfrey, Uruguayan sensation Sebastian Caceres, and Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly.
Spurs are reportedly keen to add a new midfield player to their roster, which has sparked their interest in Andre, the Fluminese sensation, as a potential substitute for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
In January, the Dane might still depart despite manager Ange Postecoglou’s low squad strength. But he’s not the only player who might be leaving soon; Eric Dier, a defender, has an expiration date in the summer. With Spurs summer loanees scheduled to return at the end of the Premier League season, exits will undoubtedly be a hot topic of conversation.
Now that Rodon is ready to go, Spurs
One of them, defender Joe Rodon of Wales, is presently having a fantastic temporary spell in the Championship with Leeds United.
The 26-year-old hasn’t exactly started his Spurs career off, despite being signed by Jose Mourinho in 2020. TEAMtalk has provided an update on his future. Despite Rodon’s stellar start at Elland Road, it is now thought that Tottenham is prepared to sell him permanently, and they would be willing to pay a price of approximately £20 million for the player.
To address Postecoglou’s lack of defensive depth, there have been suggestions that Spurs call up the former Swansea City player from his loan at Leeds; however, it doesn’t seem the center-back is currently part of his plans.
Ben Davies has praised his “terrific” international teammate Rodon, who has started 12 second-tier games and established himself as a mainstay under Daniel Farke.
Joe is an amazing player, according to Davies.
Every time I play with him for Wales, he is really reliable, skilled with the ball, and I believe our communication is strong. It really does cheer me to see him succeed at Leeds.
Since Joe is one of my closest football friends, we communicate frequently. He is the kind of player who is a really, really good defender and I believe he is displaying that right now when he is at a place where he feels valued and is having a good run of games.
Former Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs praised Rodon for his speed, referring to him as “quick”.
