The Hollywood pair Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney may try to bolster Wrexham’s roster in the January transfer window in order to increase the team’s prospects of moving up from League Two.

It is anticipated that Wrexham’s owners, Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, will bolster the team’s roster in the January transfer window.

After being promoted from the National League in 2022–2023 and spending their first season back in the EFL for fifteen years, the Welsh club is currently having a great time. With 33 points from their first 17 games of the season, Wrexham is in second place in League Two, five points behind leaders Stockport County.

Since taking over Wrexham in February 2021, Reynolds and McElhenney have invested a significant amount of money in signing new players during the various transfer windows. During the club’s tenure in the fifth division of English football, players like Paul Mullin, Ollie Palmer, and Ben Tozer were signed. These players were instrumental in the club’s return to the EFL the previous season.

The focus will soon shift to the transactions Reynolds and McElhenney will approve for the second half of the season, as the January transfer window approaches. A former England international claims that Wrexham might have a busy transfer window in 2019.

Carlton Palmer, a former Premier League midfielder, has provided an explanation for why he believes Reynolds and McElhenney intend to make major additions to the Wrexham team in January. Palmer, who played more than 400 games for English football, thinks Wrexham will be the favourite to get promoted because of the possible investment from the Hollywood pair.

Palmer told Football League World, “Parkinson’s side are genuine automatic promotion contenders, as I predicted before the start of the season.” “I thought they would succeed if they could just settle into this league and make the required changes.

“They have owners that have enormous resources, and their team has players who played at a much higher level than League Two.

“The fact that they defeated Gillingham on Saturday even without Paul Mullins and James McClean shows you how strong they are looking right now, and I expect them to invest heavily again in the January transfer window.”

During the summer transfer window, Wrexham added McLean to their roster of players. This summer, the Republic of Ireland international arrived at the Racecourse Ground accompanied by midfielder George Evans, defender Will Boyle and goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo (on loan from Arsenal).

This Saturday, Wrexham will play an away match against Accrington Stanley. On November 25, there will be a home game against Morecambe at the Racecourse. Later in December, Wrexham will play Yeovil Town in the FA Cup second round.
