The former Hoops staffer has had a varied career and is now under consideration at Old Trafford
Brendan Rodgers’ former Celtic talent spotter Lee Congerton is reportedly under consideration to take over as Manchester United’s sporting director.
The ex-Hoops scout is believed to be on the Red Devils’ radar as they seek to appoint a new chief after Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s investment is officially finalised later this month. Congerton joined Rodgers in Glasgow back in 2017 and was polarising with fans over some of his transfer market decisions.
The likes of Olivier Ntcham, Odsonne Edouard, Scott Bain and loan star Filip Benkovic all arrived under Congerton but there were also deals handed out for Marvin Compper, Kundai Benyu and loanee Charly Musonda at that time.
Paolo Maldini and Paul Mitchell are both also on the list of names compiled by the Telegraph as reported options.
