Fans of the Reds and football in general have been enthralled with the Welcome to Wrexham documentary, but co-owner Ryan Reynolds objected to a certain scene being filmed for the third season of the Disney series.

Reynolds, who made an investment in the North Wales club with Hollywood actor Rob McElhenney, received the Order of British Columbia earlier this week from Lt. Gov. Janet Austin in a private ceremony held in his native Canada.

The Mirror reports that “the award is the highest form of recognition the Canadian province of British Columbia can bestow on its citizens and recognises those who have gone above and beyond” .

Premier David Eby ceremoniously gave the Deadpool actor the Certificate of Appointment. However, Reynolds turned down the request to record the moment from the production crew.

Reynolds told the Vancouver Sun, “I told them no, even though they wanted to come here.” Additionally, he revealed that the third season of the show is currently in production and will premiere in April.

He shared a picture of the award he received on Instagram. “Being bestowed with the Order of British Columbia is an honour that lasts a lifetime. I could have been born anywhere, but I had the dumb and amazing good fortune to be born in Vancouver. **The award is not a political appointment—as I had previously believed—it is purely symbolic and has no actual power.

In order to achieve that, I might have promised a few things to a few employees of Minerva’s restaurant in Kerrisdale and Tyler, who works in the produce department at Safeway on 4th and Vine. There will never be a massive slip-and-fall on Grouse Mountain. That is not how mountains operate. It wasn’t appropriate for me to commission intricate CAD drawings, let alone to mention it. I am also unable to live at the Vancouver Art Gallery. That’s going too far. We are sorry if there was any miscommunication this morning with the gallery staff. Not “happy hour somewhere,” that is. I was out of line, and you have work to do.

“I express my gratitude to @lgjanetaustin, @davidebybc, and all members of the OBC selection committee. Huge gratitude is also extended to my three older brothers, Jeff, Terry, and Patrick.
