Retaliating against rivals Accrington Stanley for raising ticket prices, Wrexham has decided to lower the price for the rematch.

AHEAD OF TIME?
The Wrexham team, owned by Rob McElhenney and stars Ryan Reynolds, attacked rival Accrington Stanley for raising ticket prices for their League Two match against the Red Dragons by £5. The Welsh group declared on X that they would, in turn, reduce the price of tickets at Racecourse ground by £5 when Accrington visits them for the rematch as a form of protest.

THE BIGGER PICTURE: Due to their calls up by their respective national teams, the Republic of Ireland and the Gambia, star players James McClean and Jacob Mendy will miss the crucial match.

Before the game, coach Phil Parkison praised the club’s unity while remaining upbeat despite the absence of two key players.

WREXHAM’S MENTIONED
Responding to the problem on X, Wrexham wrote, “In response to Accrington Stanley’s decision to increase the matchday price by £5 from that previously charged at Wham Stadium for league games this season, we have decided to reduce the price of matchday tickets by £5 for the return game at the Racecourse on 02/03/2023.”

FUTURE PLANS FOR WREXHAM?
The Red Dragons are riding high after an 11-game winning streak going into this important matchup on Saturday. They will try to continue their run in order to close the gap on league leaders Stockport, who are now leading by five points.
