According to reports, Brentford is considering making a move for Ross McCausland, a young player for the Rangers.

The Northern Ireland international gained notoriety in recent weeks after making appearances for Philippe Clement’s first team at Ibrox. His form was recognised when he was called up for the first time as a full international.

Rangers’ contract with McCausland expires in the summer, but the team has proposed a new agreement to keep him in Glasgow. But according to the Daily Record, Brentford, a Premier League team, is eager to try to lure McCausland south, and they may be willing to sign him for as little as £300,000 in training compensation.

Rangers reportedly want to wrap up talks with the 19-year-old, who came up through the Ibrox youth system, as soon as possible.

McCausland might play tonight when Northern Ireland plays Denmark in a Euro 2024 qualifying match.

Ryan Jack, meanwhile, will put his thoughts about Euro 2024 on hold until the following summer following Scotland’s 3-3 draw with Norway in their qualifying campaign.

“We all head back to our clubs,” Jack remarked. Everyone will have a tonne of important games to play between now and then, so there will undoubtedly be a lot of football to be played.

It is something you think about occasionally. You won’t simply forget what we’ve accomplished.

Everyone will be more driven to play well, play regularly for their club, and make every effort to be a part of it.

“The campaign has been excellent. We qualified with two games remaining, something we haven’t done in a while.

“We wanted to end the campaign on a high note, but our primary goal was to qualify, which we achieved at the beginning of the campaign.”
