According to a Spanish newspaper, Real Madrid is considering Roberto De Zerbi as a possible replacement for Carlo Ancelotti.
The 44-year-old Italian, who is in his second season at Brighton and Hove Albion, has reportedly already been contacted by Real Madrid, according to Sport, after leading the team into Europe for the first time in its existence.
When his contract with Real Madrid expires at the end of the current campaign, manager Carlo Ancelotti will depart the Bernabeu.
Joaquim Piera, a reporter, stated: “Florentino Pérez ends Ancelotti’s tenure in Madrid and establishes the objective of the Brighton coach, who is the Premier League’s biggest sensation.”
“De Zerbi is the best profile to spearhead a reconstruction project with young players… and possibly [Kylian] Mbappé,” according to Ancelotti, who also mentions the Seleçao.
The president of Real Madrid, according to Piera, “wants to shake up” the Spanish powerhouses’ locker room for the upcoming campaign.
The report also stated that “the club has launched its machinery to find a replacement that it wants to sign as soon as possible.”
“And as SPORT has learned, one of the greatest sensations in European football with Brighton, a signature team, Roberto De Zerbi, is among the best-positioned to take the reins next summer.
The talks are still in the early stages. Florentino thinks De Zerbi is ready to take the big step in his career, as many forums have been predicting for months. Above all, he is respected for having the guts to mentor young football players.
