The eye-catching striker only made his first-team debut for Cape Town Spurs last month and already a host of admirers have been alerted to his talents.

The South African Under-17 forward, who is still at school, netted his first goal against Kaiser Chiefs a fortnight ago and is already being tipped for a massive future in the game.

The Hoops’ recruitment team are following Baartman’s progress and have been joined by Leeds United in monitoring the youngster.

South African news outlet IOL insisted fans should “remember the name” after Baartman became the second youngest goalscorer in the country’s top-flight.

Sean Connor, Cape Town Spurs’ technical director, witnessed the kid’s first strike and added: “I think he showed that he’s more than capable of playing at this level.

I don’t want to get too exuberant about him. He has great potential and a great future, as long as he keeps working as hard as he can, as he’s doing at the moment.”

The champions’ talent scouts believe he is one for the future and will continue to keep a close eye on the teen as the season progresses.
