Christmas is just over a month away, but if you’re planning to send any cards, please refrain from sending them to some of these League One players!
According to an EFL disciplinary rule, you will miss one match if you receive five yellow cards before the season’s 19th game. Olly Casey and Kenny Dougall have both been absent due to suspension in recent weeks. Casey was sent off against Peterborough United and received a three-game ban for all competitions, while Dougall violated the rule and received five bookings.
To avoid missing any of the upcoming games, Blackpool must first win a couple of league games. They will be playing league leaders Portsmouth at Fratton Park, and if they want to beat the only team in the division without a loss this season, discipline will be essential.
In addition, Neil Critchley’s team plays Northampton Town on Tuesday, November 28. On Saturday, December 9, they host Carlisle United following their FA Cup match against Forest Green Rovers.
One Blackpool player has been given a yellow card; if he receives more than one booking in the next three games, he will be unable to participate in the game that follows the match in which he was booked. Ollie Norburn, the club captain, Matthew Pennington, and Callum Connolly are all on three yellow cards, so they too need to avoid receiving more yellow cards in quick succession.
