One Tangerines teammate has waxed poetic about the former Celtic man, and a new danger man at Blackpool is starting to emerge.

Following Karamoko Dembele’s recent extended role in the team, Owen Dale, a forward for Blackpool, has praised the player.

Currently on a season-long loan from French team Brest, Dembele has seized his chance and entered the spotlight in recent weeks. He assisted on two goals in Blackpool’s 4-0 victory over Shrewsbury Town over the weekend. Dembele may be selected to start against Pompey this coming weekend in addition to his brace of assists and goal against Bromley earlier in the month.

Dale is well-versed in Pompey, so Neil Critchley could ask him for advice on how to take advantage of the Blues this weekend at Fratton Park. Blackpool might field a defensive team this weekend, but Pompey hasn’t lost a game yet, so Dembele’s skill might be needed when they have an attacking chance.

Regarding the former Celtic sensation, Dale remarked, “He’s a lovely player to watch. Having him on the team is a huge advantage for us. He adds a new dimension to the game, enjoys popping up in those pockets, and pulls one or two defenders to him, freeing up someone else. He’s been fantastic since he arrived and is a huge asset to us.

After experiencing early hype as a teenager, it is hoped that Dembele’s tenure at Bloomfield Road will help him get his career back on track. Although he participated in a tug-of-war between the age-grade teams of Scotland and England, he is currently concentrating on his club career. Neil Critchley gave the young player the task of finishing games because, in the initial months of his loan, he was primarily used as a substitute, but in the last few weeks, he has started games and was instead substituted off late in the contest.

Dembele has made 14 appearances for Blackpool so far this season, contributing three assists and three goals. He is under contract with Brest through the summer of 2026, and his loan expires at the end of the current campaign.
