According to a report, Aston Villa is doing well in the Premier League this year and is about to hear some exciting off-field news in the West Midlands.

The current Aston Villa campaign…

Even though there is still a lot of football to be played in 2023–2024, Unai Emery’s team can realistically aim for a top–four finish this season based on the positive start to their campaign. After gaining 25 points from their opening 12 games and scoring the second-most goals in the division—only Manchester City—the Villans are ranked fifth in the Premier League.

However, this weekend’s trip to Ange Postecoglou’s formidable Tottenham Hotspur in N17 will present the Birmingham team with a challenging test. It looks to be a tantalising match between two sides that like to attack.

The news that Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey has resumed training following a recurrence of his broken metatarsal injury, which has kept the 22-year-old out of action since September, has suggested to BBC Sport that Emery may receive encouragement prior to the match.

Tyrone Mings, the former captain of the team, has also provided a positive update on his own injury status. Birmingham Live cited what he posted on Instagram: “I understand that you didn’t think it would be this simple to get rid of me. Here’s one to say thanks for all of your correspondence. I will report back to you.”

Due to a serious knee injury, England international Mings will be sidelined for some time. During his absence from first-term action, he has been undergoing rigorous rehabilitation.

Beyond the pitch, it seems that Aston Villa and NSWE are nearing a thrilling off-field deal with a different team, expanding their global reach.

Nearing a Real Union agreement is Aston Villa.
Aston Villa and Real Union, the third-tier Spanish team owned by Villans manager Emery, are reportedly nearing an off-field agreement, according to reports in Spain via Birmingham Live.

Unai’s brother Igor Emery, the president of Real Union, has stated that the two clubs are currently “close” to finalising an off-field agreement, which Birmingham Live has described as an exciting development. Though the exact nature of the alleged partnership is still unknown, it is thought to involve a four-year contract that would serve as a “sporting collaboration” and provide “economic endowment” for the Basque team instead of Real Union becoming a part of the V Sports network.

In the last few months, the Villans and the Japanese powerhouses Vissel Kobe have formed a strategic alliance. This alliance will involve close cooperation between the two teams in the areas of player development and the exchange of concepts and techniques, with the ultimate aim of seeing more Japanese players play in Europe and possibly at Aston Villa in the future.

In a positive development for all parties concerned, Aston Villa appears to be attempting to increase their prominence in the international game while their performance on the pitch keeps improving.
