On Friday night, Leeds United will play their first Championship matchup against Rotherham United.

When Leeds United travels to South Yorkshire on Friday night to play Rotherham United, they will be hoping to continue where they left off before the international break.

The Whites had won six of their last seven games, closing the gap between the top two spots to eight points as they headed into the year’s final international break. Before the international break, the Millers lost 5-0 at Watford, which turned out to be Matt Taylor’s last game in charge before he was fired.

As a temporary measure until a permanent replacement is found, assistant manager Wayne Carlisle will lead Rotherham against Daniel Farke’s team. Ahead of the Yorkshire derby, both teams are dealing with new injury concerns. Below, we go over the selection problems that both teams are having.

1. Stuart Dallas – out

Continuing to work his way back to full fitness after a fractured femur suffered in April 2022.

2. Cafu – out

The Rotherham midfielder is expected to be out until December with a hamstring problem.

3. Sam Clucas – out

The Rotherham midfielder also is expected to be out until December with a hamstring problem. he and Cafu were both injured against Watford before the international break.

4. Cameron Humphreys – out

Another Millers player out with a hamstring problem – and not expected back until the New Year

5. Tyler Blackett – out

Similar to Humphreys he is also out with a hamstring problem and not expected back until the New Year

6. Andre Green – out

The forward is ruled out with a long-term achilles injury

7. Shane Ferguson – out

Sidelined by a long-term groin problem

8. Georginio Rutter – doubt

Is unlikely to play due to an abdominal issue but is not completely ruled out

9. Pascal Struijk – doubt

Is back in training after a hernia problem. May not be passed fit in time.

10. Sam Byram – doubt

Is also back training after a hamstring injury but is yet to be confirmed as fully fit.
