Ange Postecoglou, the head coach, has forewarned his Tottenham team about Aston Villa’s performance in advance of their Sunday (2pm) visit.

With Villa currently in fifth place and Spurs in fourth, the two teams will face off in a crucial Premier League match. Villa, who have won 13 straight games at home, will try to resume their winning ways away from home, while Spurs must bounce back from losses to Wolves and Chelsea.

They are now only one point ahead of Villa after dropping from first to fourth place in the standings due to the two losses. Along with seven players missing due to injury, Postecoglou has been dealing with a serious suspension situation involving Cristian Romero and Yves Bissouma.

Postecoglou expects a challenging match because of Villa’s impressive performance thus far. “They’ve been good since Unai [Emery] has got there,” he stated.

They have demonstrated remarkable consistency in their football play, especially in the last few weeks when they have been scoring goals. We’re at home, so it will be a great test for us, but they clearly have a lot of belief.

“We have had great home form, and we need to make sure that we continue it—aside from the Chelsea match. We have a few more injuries than the two you mentioned, but every club experiences them, and it does give me the opportunity to evaluate every member of our team.

“You try to do that on purpose, but it does happen occasionally, and that is the current state of our existence where guys will have the chance to participate. It will be a good test for us, but one we must be prepared for. It is great to see how they handle playing our football and the pressure of playing against strong opposition.”
