In order to gain an advantage over their rivals for the Scottish Premiership, Celtic is eager to bolster in January.

The number of players Brendan Rodgers, the manager of Celtic, is reportedly keen to bring to Parkhead in January in order to bolster his squad.

Celts falter in their return to the Scottish Premiership…

After returning from international duty at Parkhead, Celtic washed up a disappointing 1-1 draw against Motherwell at home in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.

It would have been difficult to argue that Rodgers’ team did not do enough to win the game, but in spite of a late penalty kick goal by David Turnbull, the Hoops dramatically gave up the lead when Jonathan Obika bent to send a corner over the line.

“A draw at home always feels like a defeat,” Aaron Rodgers said during his post-match press conference, expressing his frustration at his team’s inability to win despite having over 80% of the play on the day. We feel let down. We had more than 80% of the possession and enough opportunities to win the game. We didn’t produce as much as we would have liked, but what we did have ought to have been sufficient.”

Following Luis Palma’s missed penalty, the Irishman also acknowledged that his team needs to increase its penalty conversion rate. According to The Scotsman, he stated: “I was looking before I came in here that there have been a number of penalties missed.” In games, these are pivotal moments that you must be prepared to seize. In games, you won’t always be three, four, or five up. When that chance presents itself, you must seize it.

In the near future, Celtic’s only chance of making it further in Europe is to win when they play Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome this coming Wednesday.

Now, as Rodgers looks to add more players when the 2024 season officially opens, a new report has surfaced regarding the Bhoys’ possible activity in January.

Celtic is considering three January additions.
Football Insider reports that Celtic intends to add three new players in January as Rodgers looks to bolster his team’s depth in order to help them contend for the Scottish Premiership title.

According to the report, the Hoops are certain that the mid-season window offers good value. At Parkhead, finding a custodian is a top priority from a positioning standpoint, but Celtic are also eager to bolster their outfield positions come January 1.

The Asian Cup may keep Celtic without Kyogo Furuhashi and Oh Hyeon-gyu in January, so a striker may be sought to help offset the loss of two important offensive stars. The outlet does not specify which specific other positions that may be targeted for incomings.

However, we won’t know for a few more weeks who Celtic intends to bring on board in January, which will raise questions about the kind of player Rodgers might be interested in.
