The upcoming days bring another round of midweek Championship games, and for Leeds UnitedThis is a quick opportunity to make up for the disappointing draw at Rotherham United on Friday. A Friday night game does mean more recovery time before Daniel Farke’s team takes the field again, even though he was not pleased with the schedule makers for pressing his team into action so soon after the international break.
Wednesday night, Elland Road will host Swansea City. Leeds came out of the 1-1 draw with a new injury doubt following Liam Cooper’s forced substitution on the 80th minute.
Check out what Farke had to say about Cooper’s injury as well as the overall state of his team’s injuries.
Liam Cooper
Ten minutes remained in the draw between Leeds United and Rotherham United when the Leeds United captain hobbled off. After the game, Daniel Farke allayed concerns about a lengthy layoff.
“We need to evaluate Liam Cooper, but there may be a minor injury,” he said. “He also felt a slight cramp in his hamstring.” “We need to wait for additional assessment, but I hope to have him available on Wednesday.”
Djed Spence
Following a layoff due to a knee injury, the Tottenham loanee is back in training. Following the draw with Rotherham, Farke provided a post-match update.
“It’s crucial that he receives training,” he declared. “He had a rough period prior to his eight-week absence, as he had only been with us for two weeks and played in one competitive game.”
“He needs to improve his endurance because there is legitimate competition for his position, and his last game was during the preseason with Tottenham. He has only been back in training for five days. Being injury-free and being prepared for the match are two different things.
He’s putting in a lot of effort at work. He needs to train for a few more days. It is nice to have him returned. Every single day of training
Jamie Shackleton
Before the Millers draw, Farke had grouped three players together, including Jamie Shackleton.
“Some good news with some players, Joe Gelhardt, Jamie Shackleton and Djed Spence are back in team training, since last Saturday,” stated Farke. The good news is that all three of them are fully engaged in team training.
“It depends on how the players for the national team return. Jamie Shackleton has an easier time because he wasn’t out for too long.”
Joe Gelhardt
Farke went on, “Joffy Gelhardt looks good in training, but his hand fracture kept him out of the game for a little while longer.
Stuart Dallas
Stuart Dallas is still recovering from a broken leg over the long term.
