According to sources who spoke with Football Insider, after Nottingham Forest’s 3-2 loss to Brighton on Saturday, November 25, the pressure is mounting on manager Steve Cooper.

With only one victory in their previous nine games, Cooper’s team is currently 14th in the Premier League standings.

Prior to Forest’s upcoming match against Everton, a reliable source has informed Football Insider that the pressure on the former Swansea manager is increasing once more.

On Saturday, December 2, the Midlands team takes on the Toffees at the City Ground, trailing Sheffield United, who are in 18th place, by eight points.

If Forest loses, it’s thought that nothing drastic will happen in terms of a possible dismissal.

Since leading the team back to the Premier League in 2022, Cooper has faced multiple threats to his job.

With Forest at the bottom of the table, it appeared as though he would lose his job in October 2022. However, owner Evangelos Marinakis gave him a new contract that is valid until June 2025.

After massive financial investments in the playing team, the 43-year-old finally guided Forest to a 16th-place result in the previous season.

In the 2022–2023 Premier League season, Cooper’s team only dropped one of their final six games and ultimately finished four points above the drop zone.

This season, Forest has lost to Burnley and Luton and was eliminated by Vincent Kompany’s team in the second round of the League Cup.

Before their hectic holiday schedule, which includes games against Newcastle, Manchester United, and Tottenham before the new year, the Midlands team plays Everton next.

Striker Taiwo Awoniyi is another player Cooper will have to deal with; he will likely be sidelined for an extended period of time following groyne surgery.
