Rodrigo Bentancur, who was badly tackled by Matty Cash, is reportedly out for three months, dealing another injury blow to Tottenham.

Consequently, what happened?
In his first start since missing eight months due to a serious injury, the 26-year-old played just 26 minutes in Tottenham’s 2-1 loss to Aston Villa. However, he was taken down by a hard challenge from Cash, and despite receiving treatment on the pitch, the midfield player was unable to continue, so Ange Postecoglou was forced to substitute him.

Sky Sports claims that because Bentancur injured his ankle ligament, he will now need to spend a significant amount of time in the recovery room. He may need at least two and a half months to recover, which would keep him out of commission until February 2024.

WERE YOU AWARENESS?
Bentancur has joined a long list of athletes undergoing rehabilitation, which also includes Cristian Romero, James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, Richarlison, Manor Solomon, and Ivan Perisic. When Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma depart for international duty in Mali and Senegal, respectively, for the Africa Cup of Nations, Postecoglou’s problems will only get worse. In the meantime, South Korea’s captain Son Heung-min will be competing for Asian Cup victory during the same window.

WHAT HAPPENS TOTTENHAM NEXT?
With Spurs taking on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium next Sunday in the Premier League, Postecoglou will have his work cut out for him. The North London team has had a terrible month of November as they have lost three straight league games, dropping them to fifth place in the rankings. And playing City will put their character to the test once more!
