After a 1-1 draw with Aris at Ibrox, Rangers’ chances of qualifying for the Europa League have been put in jeopardy. The match against Real Betis in the last group stage would be crucial, but for now, the attention must be on Sunday afternoon’s Premiership matchup against St Mirren.
The Saints are currently third in the league standings after having a stellar start to the season. Rangers should have an advantage in their own stadium, but after back-to-back draws, manager Philippe Clement needs to address a few issues to get the team back on track. In two weeks, the struggling Gers will play Aberdeen in the League Cup final; they need to get back into rhythm before then.

Robby McCrorie needs to decide what to do with his Ibrox future ASAP. The youthful Scotsman continues to be Jack Butland’s backup in all situations, and it is anticipated that the former England international will start in goal against Stephen Robinson’s team.
James Tavernier, the captain, should lead the charge from the right with his relentless runs, deft crosses, and mastery of set pieces. Due to suspension, Connor Goldson was unable to play against the Aris, but he is expected to return to the starting lineup at the centre of the defence. Ben Davies may not be chosen to team with the Englishman in favour of John Souttar. Borna Barisic, the left fullback, impressed on Thursday night, but Ridvan Yilmaz deserves a rest.
Midfield Ryan Jack and Nicolas Raskin’s injuries have left Rangers lacking in depth in the midfield. Due to fitness issues, Kieran Dowell has not played recently. Surprisingly, Ross McCausland substituted Todd Cantwell shortly after the 30-minute mark, following Shavy Babicka’s goal for the Cypriot team. Welshman Rabbi Matondo ought to be reintegrated on the left, and Tom Lawrence, his countryman, ought to take Sam Lammers’ place in the starting lineup.
