Celtic head to McDiarmid Park on Sunday as it’s back to the bread and butter of the Scottish Premiership.
Despite being knocked out of the Champions League group stage in midweek the men in green and white are still sitting pretty at the top of the domestic tree.
Brendan Rodgers’ side are still undefeated in the league campaign this season and they will hope to remain at least eight points clear of city rivals Rangers dome close of play on Sunday.
The Northern Irishman has plenty to mull over in terms of team selection for the match-up with Craig Levein’s team. Will Rodgers opt to shake things up at all?
Honduran winger Luis Palma will return to the fold after missing the 2-0 defeat to Lazio in Rome due to suspension? Who will join Palma on the wing? Will Mikey Johnston finally get his chance to stake a claim for a starting slot in Rodgers’ Celtic side?
The Republic of Ireland winger looked lively against the Italians but it was it enough to convince Rodgers to hand him the nod in Perth?
Amazingly that was Johnston, 24, first ever minutes in the Champions League for Celtic and he reckons it served as a timely reminder to his manager as to what qualities he can bring to the party.
Johnston said: “I feel as if I can make a difference in the team. I’ve been away a while, but I have got my momentum back and my confidence back. There is definitely competition for places. I know what I can offer the team.
“That was my first Champions League game, and while the result wasn’t what we wanted it was great to get that under my belt. So, I was happy, but disappointed at the same time. But it’s a moment I will never forget.”
