In five years, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney can turn Wrexham into a Premier League team, according to former Red Dragons player Brett Ormerod.

Consequently, what happened?
The aspirational Welsh team broke records to win the National League in 2022–2023 and started their ascent to the elite division. With Hollywood co-owners providing the funding that are enabling the most ambitious long-term plans to be put together, they are now riding high in League Two.

THINGS ORMEROD SAID CONCERNING WREXHAM
When asked if Wrexham could be hanging out with the Premier League’s best players by 2028, Ormerod, who worked at the Racecourse for two years between 2012 and 2014, responded, “Hopefully, I’d like to see them in the Championship or Premier League in five years,” to Stocklytics. The owners have the drive and ambition to succeed. They’ve always had the appropriate following, and now they have the strength of the US. The proprietors’ intentions determine Wrexham’s final destination. I hope they succeed since the fans have endured a great deal of suffering. I was there when they were being threatened with having their bills kicked out of the ground because they weren’t getting paid.

With Ormerod adding to a great sporting story that started when a magnificent takeover of the club was finalised in the spring of 2021, Wrexham have come a long way in a short period of time: “Wrexham are very strong.” Wrexham is a well-supported club that has recently attracted attention from Hollywood; it’s almost like having Wrexham as a big-time attraction. The club barely made it out of bankruptcy during my time as a player, thus the supporters are the reason they are in this position now.

FUTURE PLANS FOR WREXHAM?
Reynolds and McElhenney have never hidden their desire to elevate Wrexham to the pinnacle of success; the “Welcome to Wrexham” documentary series documents their attempt to achieve this goal.
