A “massive” boost for Leeds United has been heralded by Crysencio Summerville following the Whites’ wait and boss message.

In Saturday’s Championship match against Middlesbrough, Dutch winger Summerville scored his eighth goal of the year to give the Whites a 2-1 lead. They went on to win 3-2 and record their seventh straight victory at Elland Road.

After just three minutes, Emmanuel Latte Lath’s goal put third-place Leeds behind. However, two minutes later, Dan James tied the score, and seven minutes later, Summerville nodded in Archie Gray’s cross to put his team ahead.

Daniel Farke’s team led 3-1 after Joel Piroe’s penalty kick in the 38th minute was converted, but Latte Lath scored both Boro’s second goal of the match in first-half stoppage time. After that, both teams wasted opportunities, and just after the hour, Anfernee Dijksteel of Boro was dismissed for a second booking.

But in the end, Leeds had done enough to win at home for the seventh time in a row, which Summerville hailed as a particularly significant boost as he also disclosed Farke’s message at halftime.

Summerville told LUTV, “It’s good to win at home, especially with our home run.” “I think this is a massive win for us to build momentum and I think everyone is happy.”

Summerville acknowledged that his team was “waiting” for a fourth goal when pressed about what Farke had told them during the halftime break. However, he added: “He said to us we have to keep calm, play our game because they try to invite us to press them and then to come out under our press but we were already in the lead. We had to carry on as we were, and I believe that all we were doing was waiting for the objective to arrive, which it didn’t. The 3-2 is very important to us.
