In the FA Cup third round, Shrewsbury Town could play their longtime rivals Wrexham, supported by their millions in Hollywood.

Thanks to a hat-trick from Ryan Bowman on Friday night against League Two Notts County, Matt Taylor’s team secured their berth in round three.

Additionally, they were drawn to play either Yeovil Town at home at Croud Meadow in the new year or the Welsh team, who have long been Salop’s fiercest and most consistent rivals.

The National League South team Yeovil will host Wrexham in their second-round home match later today, Sunday, at 3:45 p.m. The Glovers are now in League Two, two divisions behind Wrexham.

The last time Shrewsbury and Wrexham faced each other in a competitive match was during the 2007–08 League Two season.

Since taking over, the Racecourse outfit’s well-known owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, have significantly increased the club’s visibility. As of right now, Wrexham is second in League Two. In League One, Taylor’s Town is ranked 12th . The weekend of Saturday, January 6 is when the third round tie will take place.
