Goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, who plays for Arsenal, has scheduled a visit with a specialist to assess the extent of his jaw injury sustained during the first half of Wrexham’s League Two match against Harrogate Town on Tuesday, November 28. The graduate of Hale End Academy played through the pain barrier throughout the first 45 minutes of the match against Harrogate Town. The club’s medical staff advised him to be replaced at halftime.

At first, Red Dragons manager Phil Parkinson downplayed Okonkwo’s injury, stating he did not believe it warranted concern. Wrexham overcame Yeovil Town 3-0 to go to the third round of the Emirates FA Cup, with Mark Howard continuing to fill in for the injured Okonkwo.

According to statements from Parkinson that were cited by the Leader, “We will know more on Monday with Arthur. The specialist is giving him another opinion. However, you must give Mark credit.” In the final moments of the summer transfer window, Okonkwo joined Wrexham on a season-long loan, and in less than a month, he became a mainstay in the first team Since joining the Reds, the 22-year-old has made thirteen appearances in all competitions, posting a respectable six clean sheets.
