When Brighton & Hove Albion takes on Brentford, a formidable opponent in the Premier League, Roberto De Zerbi will want his players to get back to their previous level of performance.
Roberto De Zerbi will be disappointed with his Brighton & Hove Albion team’s performance against Chelsea this past weekend, as it was a fantastic chance for them to pick up three points before Brentford’s visit. The Blues seized a two-goal lead, and Conor Gallagher was sent off for two bookable offences shortly after Facundo Buonanotte’s goal.

Supporters would have recognized it as a chance to win three points. Rather, Brighton gave up a penalty in the second half, which was a self-shot. Joao Pedro’s late goal proved to be little more than solace as Chelsea maintained their slim lead and won important points at Stamford Bridge.

De Zerbi may concentrate on winning the Europa League, according to one idea, but he will also want to keep things stable in the Premier League. They are now on a respectable six-game unbeaten streak at the Amex, where they will take on Brentford. They will be looking to revive their challenge for a top-four spot, and they should benefit from a victory on Wednesday.

At the end of the season, Brentford is also keen to recover their position as contenders for a European spot, but their recent performance says otherwise. Although they defeated Luton Town easily at home, Thomas Frank’s team still has some difficult games ahead of them.

Thomas Frank called the Luton victory a “complete performance,” but Brentford had only triumphed once in their previous five Premier League games. The manager wants to alter the dynamics there and put his team’s goals for Europe and other things back on track.

They do have a winning record against Brighton lately, and when they play the Seagulls on Wednesday, Frank would like to extend their winning streak to three games. Brentford would draw even with their opponents on points if they win, but unless they can pull off a huge victory at the Amex, they may continue to lag behind on goal differential.

Team Updates & Strategies Brighton
Since Roberto De Zerbi may be using the same lineup that played against Chelsea over the weekend, he presumably won’t have any fresh injury updates to share. The manager still has to decide on his midfield and defense because Mahmoud Dahoud and Lewis Dunk are serving their last suspensions and are not available.

There may not be many changes made for this midweek match; De Zerbi is probably going to stick with the same backline. Jack Hinshelwood, a young player, made enough of an impression to maintain his spot in the starting lineup as the management continues to play without his regular left-backs.

Jason Steele may be replaced in goal by Bart Verbruggen. Pascal Gross could replace Carlos Baleba in midfield and play in tandem with Billy Gilmour. Baleba had a subpar performance by his standards, while the German, who had entered the game off the bench against Chelsea, looked impressive.

Regarding the attack, Joao Pedro’s late goal may have qualified him for this midweek matchup; Adam Lallana is expected to be replaced by the Brazilian. While Facundo Buonanotte will stay on the right side of the assault, Simon Adingra may move to the left to make room for Kaoru Mitoma. Brighton’s lineup will still be led by Evan Ferguson.

Probable Lineup (4-2-3-1): Verbruggen; Veltman, Van Hecke, Igor, Hinshelwood; Gross, Gilmour; Buonanotte, Pedro, Mitoma; Ferguson
