Daniel Farke at Leeds United needs to make a number of decisions as the January transfer window approaches.
The German team could certainly do without the turmoil that was evident throughout the summer, but a team overhaul might be just what the team needs to give them the motivation they need to seriously challenge for the top two spots in the Championship.
With the exception of the occasional hiccup, the all-whites have been playing very brilliantly under Farke thus far.
Farke has skillfully worked with what he has, creating a genuine cohesion within the group as well as the hunger that competition for spots provides. This is in contrast to the 2022–2023 season, when nothing seemed to gel under a series of managers.
Given his prior success in leading Norwich to promotion from the Championship, the manager’s experience will also serve him well in the second half of the season.
As Kieran McKenna and Enzo Maresca lack the same experience as a number one, that may be what eventually propels Leeds into the automatic spots. At that moment, though, when the chips are down, that’s when they truly need to prove themselves.
However, one player is unlikely to appear for Leeds since Junior Firpo wants to quit the team in January, according to Estadio Deportivo.
The 27-year-old will offer Farke one less thing to worry about if he walks on and is reportedly open to returning to Real Betis.
