Oliver Glasner has been contacted by Nottingham Forest in their search for a possible Steve Cooper replacement.

The Reds are developing a shortlist of potential replacements, and following a 5-0 loss against Fulham, Cooper may be close to retirement.

Now that Forest has dropped four straight Premier League games, they are once again in the bottom three. Cooper is expected to need to secure a significant victory over Wolves in order to obtain a stay of execution.

Cooper began to perspire while Glasner spoke.
The Athletic claims that Forest has been eyeing Glasner for some time and has recently communicated with him. In a Q&A session last night regarding club matters, Daniel Taylor stated that he will be considered for the shortlist. Our information indicates that there has been consistent communication with Glasner’s team at Eintracht Frankfurt for a while,” he stated.

“I am aware that some individuals may find it objectionable that those conversations can occur in the presence of an appointed manager. Regretfully, that is the nature of the beast.

Who is Oliver Glasner, the Forest associate?

The 49-year-old most recently managed Eintracht Frankfurt, where he contributed to their Europa League triumph. An Austrian head coach, he defeated Rangers in the final during 2021–2022, against all the odds with the Bundesliga team. During his tenure with Frankfurt, he managed 97 games, winning 38 of them and drawing 30, for a victory percentage of almost 40%.

Although Cooper didn’t have much managing experience when he first came to Forest, neither does Glasner.

The gifted head coach moved to Wolfsburg in Germany in 2019 after managing Austrian teams SV Ried and LASK. Frankfurt stole him away from his debut Bundesliga campaign, in which he had a victory percentage of nearly 50%.
