If Nottingham Forest is to start winning games, they need to “get more quality” in their attacking areas.
Jermaine Jenas, a former midfielder for the Reds, made this claim after breaking down this weekend’s 1-1 tie with Wolves on Match of the Day. The 40-year-old was full of compliments for the Forest defenders, but he wants to see more from the offensive line.
Presenter Gary Lineker stated, “Not a win, but definitely an important point,” before introducing the Forest analysis. and a motivating display from Forest.”
Jenas retorted, “Yes, and he (Cooper) mentioned it there: he is aware that the performance and outcome from midweek weren’t satisfactory. He is aware that he is under a lot of strain. From a Nottingham Forest perspective, though, I am aware that the supporters are behind him.
“He did make seven alterations to the system today, moving from five at the back to seven overall. He played a lot of that system throughout the Championship, so he understands it well. That provided him with an extra degree of security and teammates supporting one another. I felt that Murillo, Boly, and Niakhate were a tremendously strong defensive three. Specifically, Murillo had an excellent performance. They need to add more quality up there if they hope to win games from a forward position. For a few weeks now, that has been the headline.
