David Prutton has made his prediction for West Brom versus Rotherham United at the New York Stadium on Wednesday (13 December).
The Millers appointed Leam Richardson as their new manager on Monday (11 December) but former Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday manager thinks it will be the Baggies taking all three points in South Yorkshire.
Writing his predictions for Sky Sports, Prutton tipped Carlos Corberan’s men – beating 2-1 at Sunderland last time out – to run out 1-0 victors.
The clash at the Stadium of Light on Saturday (9 December) was certainly not without incident and Sunderland were extremely fortunate not to have Dan Ballard sent off for an ugly scissor tackle on Josh Maja, which means the striker might be out for another period on the sidelines.
The Baggies have an excellent change to bounce back quickly against a Millers side who are now bottom of the Championship on goal difference after Sheffield Wednesday ran out 1-0 winners at Stoke City on Saturday.
There is, of course, the danger of the new manager bounce with former Wigan Athletic manager Richardson taking over the beleaguered club, and the home crowd will no doubt be in good voice.
But the truth of the matter is that West Brom simply have to be winning games like this is they want to continue their promotion charge. They fell short against Sunderland but here they need to make sure there are no further away-day blues.
In other West Brom news, Adrian Goldberg says £6million could be enough for one player to depart The Hawthorns in January.
