Gary Lineker has gushed about Marco Silva, who is connected to Nottingham Forest. If a decision is made on Steve Cooper, the Portuguese manager would be highly desired by the Reds to be appointed.

In recent weeks, there has been criticism of the Reds head coach. His future has been the subject of much conjecture lately, especially after Fulham under Silva crushed him 5-0 last Wednesday.

On Saturday, Forest did make a comeback, winning a well-earned point at Wolves. In that particular match, Matheus Cunha stole a point for the hosts, despite Harry Toffolo giving Forest the lead.

Lineker gushes over Silva Evangelo Marinakis, the Forest-connected boss, who threw his matchday pass into a bush after the Fulham match. However, he chose not to end Cooper’s life, and he will continue to fight another day. But soon after, word spread that Silva was a tremendous fan of the club and that Forest dreamed of hiring him after their time together at Olympiacos.

Forest did rally on Saturday, earning a valuable point at Wolves. Harry Toffolo gave Forest the lead in that specific match, but Matheus Cunha stole a point for the home team.

After the Fulham game, Silva Evangelo Marinakis, the manager with ties to Forest, threw his matchday pass into a bush. Lineker is enthralled with him. But he decided against taking Cooper’s life, and he will fight another day.

However, soon after their time together at Olympiacos, rumors circulated that Silva was an ardent supporter of the team and that Forest had fantasies of employing him.

With an eye on highlighting Silva, Lineker went on, saying, “I think the manager deserves huge credit as well for those results.”

If Cooper leaves, Silva would be a fantastic appointment.
It’s not out of the question to speculate that Cooper may decide to depart even if the form takes off. It was revealed last week that Crystal Palace is keeping a close eye on the Forest man and likes him. The 46-year-old Silva, who was connected to Forest, has done a great job at Fulham. In his first season, he guided them to promotion, and in 2022–2023, he presided over a Premier League finish in 10th place.

Silva had a release clause added before he signed a new deal. It’s unclear, though, if the Cottagers have one in his new contract or not.

Forest will support Cooper going forward. It’s a sad commentary on modern-day football, though, that Marinakis has already begun to consider other options.

Silva would be a fantastic addition should Forest choose to release Cooper. He is a rising coach, is familiar with the league, and in the end, would enjoy the financial support that Marinakis usually provides his managers with.
