The Old Firm duo will now face one early weekend and one midweek night under the lights in late January and early February as the SPFL confirmed changes due to TV coverage.

Sky Sports have announced their latest TV games with Rangers and Celtic featuring twice each as part of four game announcement

Rangers and Celtic will be on the box TWICE each as part of a four game Sky Sports fixture announcement.

The Glasgow rivals are battling it out at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with the weekend results throwing up another twist in the race for the league title. Philippe Clement retained his unbeaten start to life in the Ibrox dugout by dumping Dundee 3-1 in Govan. But it was not a straight forward afternoon with the visitors taking the lead before VAR took centre stage. Firstly the hosts got a penalty following a pull on Abdallah Sima before another intervention prompted Kevin Clancy to upgrade a yellow card to a red card for Jose Cifuentes – who lost his appeal and will now miss Sunday’s Viaplay Cup Final. Cyriel Dessers, James Tavernier and Sima grabbed the goals for the ten men who put three points on the board and pressure on Celtic.

Brendan Rodgers’ men travelled to Kilmarnock 24 hours later looking to restore the eight point advantage they had at the summit and looked on course to do so after Matt O’Riley fired home on the rebound after Callum McGregor was denied from range after an excellent bit of individual skill on the edge of the area. But the home side came roaring back in the second period with a Nat Phillips own goal and Matty Kennedy strike two minutes from time turning the game around as the champions lost at Rugby Park for the second time this season. It means the gap stands at five points with Rangers having played one game less.

There will no doubt be many twists and turns between now and the winter break – including a derby showdown at Parkhead on December 30 – as Sky Sports announce the latest batch of games in early 2024 to make it on live coverage.
