The great darts player Phil Taylor has responded to speculation that he and Robbie Williams would join forces to become football’s newest owners in show business.

Consequently, what happened?
Following Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s triumph at Wrexham, there have been whispers that Taylor and Williams may purchase League One’s struggling Port Vale. Taylor hinted that he may collaborate with the former Take That singer, even though he stated he has no imminent plans to take over his neighborhood bar.

Few anticipated that Reynolds and McElhenney would treat Wrexham as their own, but under their leadership, the Welsh team has made a 15-year comeback to the Football League. Since Taylor and Williams get along well, there’s no reason why they couldn’t succeed in the same way with Vale. Since 2004, the Midlands club has not competed at a higher level than the third division.

THOUGHS OF TAYLOR REGARDING TAKEOVER
Taylor stated to OLGB, “Robbie [Williams] and I are excellent friends. His dad is like my second dad, Peter. Robbie expressed interest in investing in Port Vale, and if he did, would you be interested in doing the same? Indeed, I thought so, but we’d have to examine what it is, how much they want, and other things first. However, Robbie hasn’t gotten back to me. Thus, no, I believe it to be only a rumor.”

PORT VALE’S AIMS: WHAT TAYLOR SAID
In response to a question about his goals as a co-owner of Port Vale, Taylor said, “Get them to the Premier League.” To be completely honest with you, I have no idea; I have no idea. I would definitely give former boxing and darts promoter Barry Hearn a ring and ask for his advise. I would ask Barry, my former manager, for some advise since, well, he owned Leyton Orient and has far more experience managing a football team than I do.”

PORT VALE: WHAT COMES NEXT?
At the present, the idea that Port Vale will become the next Wrexham sounds like pipe dreaming. Andy Crosby’s team will concentrate on closing the six-point gap between them and the League One relegation zone in the interim.
