Simon Rusk, a former coach of Brighton’s under-23 team, has joined Nottingham Forest’s coaching staff.

Rusk was employed by Albion from 2015 to 21 before joining Stockport County on a permanent basis. He then had roles as England’s Under-19 manager and assistant manager at Dundee.

The 41-year-old is currently employed by Forest at the Nigel Doughty Academy and is the team’s first-ever dedicated set-piece coach, according to The Athletic.

Along with Burnley and Crystal Palace, the Tricky Trees have scored the fewest set-piece goals in the Premier League this season with only one.

On the other hand, Steve Cooper’s team has given up the most goals from corners and free kicks in the division (eight).

When Forest visits the Amex in the Premier League on March 9, 2024, Rusk might make a return to his former team, Brighton, where he also served as a first-team coach under former Seagulls manager Chris Hughton.
