According to manager Carla Ward, Aston Villa is trying to get an emergency loan for a goalie because two of their stoppers are sidelined due to injuries.
Sophia Poor is recuperating from a long-term injury, and Daphne van Domselaar, the starting goalie, has sustained a concussion.
On Sunday at 18:45 GMT, Villa takes on Brighton in the Women’s Super League.
“I won’t tell you who that is yet but we should have that [emergency loan] by tomorrow,” Ward stated on Friday.
“Daph was hit in the head in a pretty rough collision [on Saturday] versus Manchester City.” She had little difficulty following the game and will miss time due to a concussion.”
Villa, who have won two of their last nine games and are ranked tenth in the WSL, still have goalkeeper Anna Leat available.
