According to speculations, Leeds United may approve Luis Sinisterra’s return this winter, terminating Jaidon Anthony’s tenure at Elland Road after just a few months.
After head coach Andoni Iraola left Anthony out in the cold, the Peacocks worked out a late agreement with Bournemouth on transfer deadline day, allowing Anthony to join the Yorkshire team.
A relegation provision was included to Luis Sinisterra’s contract, one of many players from Leeds’ Premier League team that was demoted after he moved from Feyenoord for £21.4 million in 2022.
Despite making three appearances during the season for Leeds under Daniel Farke, Sinisterra was soon loaned to Bournemouth. But the winger’s experience at the Vitality Stadium hasn’t gone according to plan.
The Colombian international has played in just nine games for the Cherries, totaling just 261 minutes. In those nine games, he has one goal and one assist.
Conversely, Anthony has made 16 appearances for Leeds United this season, although only two of those appearances have been in the Championship. Moreover, he has only managed one goal. Now, a rumor from TeamTalk claims that when the January transfer market begins, Leeds and Bournemouth will agree to call off the exchange agreement. According to the outlet, neither player has made the kind of impression at his new club that was expected, thus the two parties will reportedly review the trade in the upcoming weeks.
Author’s Perspective
It would not be shocking to learn about this debt.
Even in a lower division than the premier league, Sinisterra managed six goals for Leeds in the previous campaign and could prove to be a valuable asset to Daniel Farke’s team in the future. He might also give Daniel James more competition on the right than Anthony does.
