Although he acknowledges that Arsenal has the final say, Wrexham AFC boss Phil Parkinson hopes to see Arthur Okonkwo return to the team shortly.

After taking a hit to the head in a November game for loan club Wrexham, goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo of Arsenal was substituted off.

The goalie needed to be treated twice on the field, taking painkillers, and he made an unusual motion when he flapped at a cross.

At halftime, Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson decided to take him off the field because the goalkeeper appeared to be “dazed. Subsequently, the BBC revealed that Okonkwo had returned to Arsenal for a minor jaw surgery; when he returns, the player would probably need to wear a protective mask while playing.

Before getting hurt, Okonkwo was playing well, keeping three clean sheets in his previous four outings.

Prior to the game against Harrogate Town, Okonkwo has outperformed his xG conceded by 2.4 goals this season, facing 11.4 xG worth of chances and only giving up nine goals, according to The Athletic.

This season, the 22-year-old has made 13 appearances in all competitions, keeping six clean sheets. From his league debut on September 30 to his injury on November 28, he started every League Two and FA Cup encounter.
