Adrian Mazilu, who recently signed with Brighton, is gearing up for his final game at Farul Constanta with the goal of making a name for himself in the Premier League.
The youth from the Romanian team was signed by Albion this summer, although he played for Gheorghe Hagi’s team for the first part of the campaign.
The 18-year-old had three assists and two goals in 2023–24, following his breakout season of seven goals in 23 games the previous year.
The 6′ 1″ forward will play in Constanta’s final game of the year against Rapid Bucuresti before joining the Seagulls the following month, and he is keen to leave his boyhood club on a strong note.
“It will be my last match, I hope to enter the field, to give it my all,” he said to Farul TV, as reported by Digi Sport. It was a remarkable event for me because this is where I began playing football. I learned everything from the academy. This is where I obtained the medals and trophies.”
Mazilu, who learned a lot this season throughout the Champions League and Europa Conference League qualifiers, is aware that playing for Brighton under head coach Roberto De Zerbi will be a significant improvement in caliber.
The right winger-turned-forward Romanian under-21 international, nevertheless, is relishing the task.
It will be challenging because I have to cope and adjust to their way of doing things. “It is the best league in Europe, with the best football played there,” he remarked.
“I’ve wanted to play in the Premier League since I was a young child, and my dream has come true. I have to go ahead and make my debut there. My goal is to make my Premier League debut there and go to the senior national squad.”
