Galatasaray’s prospects of pursuing Rangers left-back Ridvan Yilmaz are “day by day” increasing since Bradley Locko, the team’s top target, might be too costly at roughly £9 million.

Haber Turk claims that Galatasaray’s search for a new left-sided full-back is proving to be somewhat difficult.

In a perfect world, a year and a half after leaving Besiktas, the Super Lig giants would not invite Ridvan Yilmaz back to Turkey. According to the source, Yilmaz is listed lower on Galatasaray’s January wish list than Bradley Locko, who is now at the top of the list.

However, Ligue 1’s Stade Brestois in France is requesting a sum of about £9 million for Locko, thus the squad that defeated Manchester United 4–0 in the Champions League group stages could have to give Yilmaz priority.

Rangers’ Ridvan Yilmaz facing January uncertainty

According to Haber Turk, Yilmaz’s prospects of coming back to Istanbul are “increasing day by day.”

The amount Rangers would ask for the Turkey international, who cost the Glasgow giants approximately £3.5 million when he signed in the summer of 2022, is still unknown. On the other hand, Yilmaz is probably available for a small portion of the price Brest is asking for Locko. Galatasaray has downplayed suggestions that they were discussing Yilmaz, although things could alter in the near future.

Galatasaray thinking of making a deal
Once more, the 22-year-old has been unable to remove Borna Barisic from the Rangers starting lineup. Under Mick Beale, he was left off of the team’s Europa League squad. Philippe Clement benched him during Sunday’s Scottish League Cup final victory over Aberdeen.

Turkish reporter Yagiz Sabuncuoglu reported on X in November that “Ridvan Yilmaz’s agent, Necdet Ergezen, went to Scotland to meet with Rangers.” Their dissatisfaction with Ridvan’s playing time is evident. The stakeholders will get together to discuss the player’s future.
