The midfield player has come under fire for allegedly using social media excessively.

After leading Rangers to victory this past weekend in the Viaplay Cup, Todd Cantwell responded sharply to his detractors.

This season, the midfield player has been accused of using social media excessively, and his actions on platforms like Instagram and Twitter have given opposing fans fodder for criticism. It doesn’t appear to have bothered the Englishman too much, though, as he even made good use of it yesterday, taking aim at his naysayers with a caustic message.

Cantwell posted a photo of himself with the prize and captioned it, “just a boy with a tik tok account,” referencing another social media platform where he’s received the greatest backlash.

Cantwell was at the centre of plenty of action on the Hampden pitch yesterday and was on the receiving end of some rough and tumble treatment by Aberdeen players.

Again, though, it didn’t seem to bother him too much. “I’ve been accustomed to that sort of treatment so far, but no complaints from me. Listen it’s a game a football, a very competitive one and Aberdeen made it really difficult. We had to play to the conditions, it was really boggy out there.”
