According to Joe Rodon, he is unsure if he will sign a long-term contract with Leeds United.

Rodon is currently about halfway through his season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur, and as a result of his performances, requests for him to sign a permanent contract have grown.

Leeds’ teammate Ethan Ampadu has also urged the club to make an offer in order to close a transfer as early as January, as has BBC analyst Jon Newsome.

In an interview with Leeds Live, Rodon stated that he is certain to stay until the end of the season, ruling out the possibility of an early recall. However, he was unable to affirm either way.

I can’t answer that question,” he uttered. I can only think on the next game and watch what transpires. Naturally, I’m here for the season, and my goal is to succeed as much as I can with this team and this club by giving it everything I’ve got.

Leeds need to complete Rodon permanent deal

Given his quality of play this season, it wouldn’t be shocking if Premier League teams were keeping an eye on him in the summer, which would make a January trade challenging.

Journalist Alasdair Gold of Football London thinks Leeds may try to finalize a permanent agreement in January; nevertheless, it remains unclear if this is really a temporary arrangement.

With Pascal Struijk, Rodon has forged a very solid center defense combo. Their defending philosophies are highly complementary to one another.

Rodon has the capacity to rebound quickly and put his body on the line when it matters most, much as he did against Middlesbrough earlier this month. Struijk, on the other hand, has a good sense of the game.

It will be far more difficult if Leeds are still in the Championship, but perhaps they can finalize a permanent contract for Rodon whether or not they are promoted.
