By 2024, the Wrexham football club and the surrounding town will be flourishing, and co-owner Ryan Reynolds has made hints that the transfer market may be investigated.
Ryan Reynolds, the Hollywood owner of Wrexham, has hinted at a January transfer after the team won the UK’s Home Rental League.
Since Reynolds and Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney took control in 2021, the city’s reputation has grown, and many celebrities from the entertainment industry have come to Wales to see the Red Dragons.
A story in The Telegraph claims that in 2023, Wrexham would get 56 inquiries for every available rental unit, seven more than its closest competitor Redbridge. Additionally, there are already more inquiries than there were available rental properties in Wrexham in 2019.
Reynolds has made indications that there are other markets of interest as we approach the New Year, with Wrexham now occupying the third spot in League Two and vying for promotion for the second time in a row.
This season, Wrexham has seen a fair share of injuries; manager Phil Parkinson has expressed concern, and Reynolds looks prepared to deal with those problems in January. In addition to the UK’s Home Rental League chart on Instagram, Reynolds said, “If you happen to be in a transfer window.”
Wrexham may be able to catch up to League Two leaders Stockport, who lead by six points, with the help of one, two, or more players. But Wrexham and Barrow, in second place, still have a game in hand on the league leaders.
According to Parkinson, the team is constantly searching for fresh talent to add to the roster. The Reds’ manager stated, “I don’t want to make any predictions for January in terms of incoming players.” “We have a talented team, but we’re constantly searching. We are constantly looking to improve, as our supporters are aware, and we are now evaluating a number of circumstances, but we are keeping our cards close to the vest.”
“We are just assessing the squad as we go along,” Parkinson continued. We will be able to add players back into the squad after January 1st because the 22-man squad regulation does not apply during January. We have players returning from injury and other players who haven’t even been included in the 22-man roster.
“We’re simply keeping an eye on Fletch, watching how Barney appears to be returning, and examining our alternatives for January. I’m excited to see the players return to the group.”
Next up for Wrexham at the Racecourse Ground on Saturday is Newport County. Newport has accrued 26 points from 22 games and is ranked 17th in League Two.
