Even without Geno Smith in the starting lineup, the Seattle Seahawks were a formidable opponent. But after Drew Lock put on a fantastic display, it appears that the team will be happy to have Smith return to the starting lineup.

Smith was unable to play against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15 due to a groin issue. Fortunately for them, Lock maintained control and guided the Seahawks to a thrilling victory. But according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Geno Smith will officially make his comeback against the Tennessee Titans in Week 16.

“Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith is not listed on this week’s injury report and is anticipated to start Sunday against the Titans after missing the previous two games due to a groin injury.”

For the last few games of the regular season, Seattle will have their starting quarterback back, which is fantastic news. Even though Lock had a strong game, Geno Smith is a better center for the Seahawks. Thus, this is an important advancement for the franchise. especially as they are vying for a postseason berth.

Smith’s return to the Seahawks comes at the ideal time. Seattle’s final three games of the season are against the Arizona Cardinals, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Titans. Their hopes of making the playoffs will depend greatly on Geno Smith behind center. He provides the team with their best opportunity to prevail.

But we’ll see how it turns out. Despite being eliminated by the Houston Texans last week, the Titans are not a team that will simply give up and go away. In either case, Geno Smith will start for the Seahawks, a team that no one wants to play against this late in the season.
