Top striker for Wrexham, Paul Mullin, seems to be a huge fan of music sensation Taylor Swift, but he is hesitant to ask club co-owner Ryan Reynolds to go to one of her concerts.
Paul Mullin, a striker for Wrexham, is hesitant to ask Ryan Reynolds, the club’s co-owner, for help getting tickets to Taylor Swift concerts.
It seems Mullin is a fan of both Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs and Taylor Swift amid the NFL’s adoration for both players. Reynolds has been acquainted with Swift for a considerable amount of time thanks to Swift’s close friend, wife and actress Blake Lively.
Even so, Mullin seems reluctant to ask Reynolds for assistance in obtaining tickets to one of her performances, despite their close friendship. The club’s executive director, Humphrey Ker, was recently interviewed on the Men in Blazers podcast. He disclosed, during the interview, Mullin’s attempts to use him as a means of gaining entry into an Eras Tour show.
“On sometimes, he texts me asking, ‘Can you get me tickets to see Taylor Swift?’ During the performance, Ker remarked, “I’m like, ‘No, how would I get you Taylor Swift tickets?” “Aim for Ryan. She and his wife are best buddies! ‘I don’t want to ask him,’ he says. “Well, do you want me to ask?” I ask. You want me to go beg for Taylor with my cap in hand.
Mullin joined Wrexham in 2021 and has since established himself as a dependable player for the team. Shortly after Reynolds and co-chairman Rob McElhenney took over the club, he joined. Mullin made an immediate impression and has since scored an outstanding 88 goals for the Red Dragons, propelling them into the running for back-to-back promotions.
The connection between Swift and Lively started in 2015 when Lively made a lighthearted allusion to Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video in an image from an L’Oreal campaign. Though there were rumors at first that Lively was taking a sly swipe, she quickly came out as a loyal Swiftie.
They became closer after visiting Australia, and their friendship has been strong ever since. The pair regularly displayed their friendship on social media, showing support for one another at important occasions like birthdays and holiday gatherings. With the use of James’ voice in “Gorgeous” and references to James, Inez, and Betty in Folklore, Swift even incorporated the children of Lively and Reynolds into her songs. During Swift’s Eras Tour in 2023, Lively and the children gave her support, referring to her as “aunt” Taylor.
In an earlier interview with the Fearless In Devotion podcast, Reynolds expressed his desire for Swift to play at Wrexham’s home stadium, the Racecourse, in order to increase the club’s social media and international visibility. He added that his aspirations would probably not come true because of the stadium’s small seating capacity.
As Reynolds joked with club co-owner Rob Mcelhenney, “We’re going to need some more seats, Rob,” the two laughed. “They [Swift and Beyonce] play the biggest of the big stadiums.”
He then added, “I would love to see any band.” “Those I discovered as an adult, or ones I listened to growing up. The Racecourse is quite the venue. I’m glad that’s taking place right now.
